Rector of Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov is a Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Akanov Aikan Akanovich.

Kazakh National Medical University today — is the largest organization of medical education, which has strong financial, scientific and educational base, the prevailing scientific and pedagogical schools, highly qualified teaching and research staff, experience with foreign students.

 

The direct management of the Institute provides Vice-rector of postgraduate education, and interregional cooperation, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Aman Duysekeev Duysekeevich. Duysekeev A.D. after graduating in 1965 Almaty State Medical Institute in the period of 3 years worked as an intern in the Panfilov district of Almaty region. After graduating from residency in the specialty surgery he worked as a surgeon, deputy chief physician at Children’s Hospital number 11, then at Children’s Hospital № 2 in Almaty.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He was head of Department of Health Almaty and Almaty region.
From 1992 to 1997 he worked as Vice Minister of Ministry of Health of the RK. Twice elected deputy of the Kazakh Parliament. He was awarded the badge «Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan.»

 

 

From 2008 to the present director of the Institute of postgraduate education is a doctor of medical sciences, professor Darmenov Oralbay Kenzhebaevich.

In 1974 he graduated from the Medical Faculty of the Alma-Ata State Medical Institute, and 1975 — an internship in surgery. He worked as a surgeon in a district hospital, 1978-1987. in the department of surgery of the esophagus, stomach, and mediastinum in the Scientific Research Institute of Clinical and Experimental Surgery named after A.N. Syzganov;

For 12 years (1987 to 1999.) Worked the chief surgeon of the Ministry of Health, and 1999-2002. — Professor of Surgery and also the dean of the surgical department of the Almaty Institute of Advanced Medical.

2002 and 2008 — Vice-rector for educational and clinical work, the first Vice-rector of the Kazakh State Medical Academy in Astana.

 

Preserving the traditions of one of the oldest medical schools of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the only one that has national status in its activities, the Institute of postgraduate education (IPE) is to continually improve the quality of teaching with the latest advances in science and education. Retraining and advanced training of medical personnel involved in the teaching staff (PPS) of 12 departments and 6 courses of the Institute of postgraduate education and draws faculty of more than 50 departments of the university, where there are 4 academicians, 3 — State Prize laureate RK, 137 doctors, professors, 434 — candidate of medical sciences, professor.

IPE carries out courses of retraining and advanced training of medical workers and faculty members of medical universities and medical colleges of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Duration of courses:

Retraining (specialization) from 864 hours/16 weeks to 1080 hours/20 weeks depending on the specialty and prior education.

Advanced training from 54 hours /1 week to 216 hours /4 weeks.

In addition, the Institute provides training for professional development (including workshops, training, self-education, learning by doing (training in the workplace), as well as training of the faculty of medical schools, «Assistant-primary», «assistant re-«,»Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer», «Head of Department, Professor».

In 2011more than 5000 medical workers were trained in 40 specialties.

Forms of training:

  2. By the local budget of Regional and Almaty health department
  3. On a fee basis at the request of leaders of medical institutions of all forms of property and applications of individuals (citizens)

University at the request of individuals and legal entities may at any time to start cycles of retraining and advanced training in the formation of groups of 4 or more specialists on a fee basis.

After graduation specialists are issued a certificate of retraining and a certificate of advanced training of a standard Ministry of Health.

Each year the rector of the university with Vice-rectors Duysekeev A.D., Myrzabekov O. and Director of IPE Darmenov O.K. doing a great job with the health departments of West Kazakhstan, Atyrau, Aktau, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, Kostanai, North Kazakhstan, Almaty, South Kazakhstan and other areas for advanced training and retraining of specialists.

The University organizes field training to improve skills in terms of 2 — 4 weeks of the recruitment of specialists of 15 or more, there is also a discount.

Persons who have passed an internship (graduates of medical schools) in any specialty regardless of the date of its passage can be retrained (for a new specialty) on a fee basis in the field of «Surgery», «Obstetrics and gynecology», «Heart Surgery (interventional cardiac surgery»), «ultrasonic diagnosis,» «dermatocosmetology», «Clinical and laboratory diagnosis,» and others — in 56 specialties, according to the list of specialties approved by the Ministry of Health of RK as the group.

Center of practical skills (CPS) is a translation of procedural skills in today’s plaster casts and simulators, playing clinical situations with interactive full-size mannequins, practicing communication skills on standardized patients, teaching with the use of modern diagnostic and production equipment, as well as with the use of virtual gaming.

Center for Medical Simulation includes a therapeutic unit, surgical unit, the unit of obstetrics and gynecology, family medical ambulance unit. In the center of the specialized skills practiced in the direction of plaster casts and mannequins.

Specialists enrolled in the cycle of training have the opportunity at the Center to work out the practical skills, i.e. honed skills in verbal and nonverbal communication with patients and their families.

In the center of dental skills practiced skills in all core subjects in the online specialty dental plaster cast of the last generation.

In the center of an independent assessment of knowledge and skills have an exam on the type of OSKE on standardized patients. In 12 patients, doctors pass a standardized clinical examination. There is a separate room for independent examiners, who through the video and audio feedback to assess the knowledge of experts.

Also at the disposal of CPS has 7 rooms debriefing, lecture hall with 100 seats, the separation of instrumental and functional diagnosis with 10 modules — SSS (removal and decoding of the ECG, ultrasound, etc.), gastrointestinal (fibrogastroscopy, ultrasound, etc.), diseases of the respiration (reading X-ray films, the definition of respiratory function, etc.), diagnostic imaging, blood system, urinary and endocrine systems.
